A special edition of Paper Rodeo, the seminal Providence-based free newspaper of exuberant comics, drawings, and free form scrawls of all kinds. In the summer of 2004, Paper Rodeo co-editor Leif Goldberg began sending issues to prisons through the Books Behind Bars program. Each issue contained a solicitation for art from the prisoners. Free Radicals is the result of Leif’s program – dozens of pieces of art by prisoners alongside the usual Paper Rodeo contributors, including Mat Brinkman, Paper Rad, C.F., and many others.
