I know I sometimes exaggerate, but seriously, this is the best book I’ve seen in years. Decades, even. Nearly 600 pages long, it’s a “how to draw” book done by the emperor of “bad” drawing, King Terry, of Japan. There is some minimal Japanese text here, but mostly it’s thousands of perfectly shitty images, one after the other, in every conceivable category. Terry has been at this since the early 1970s, and, with Gary Panter, originated the ratty line style. This book is his crowning achievement, as it also represents a kind of manifesto for his “heta uma” (literally “bad good”) art movement. This masterpiece will not be around long. Get yours now, and learn something, for fuck’s sake.
