A gorgeous catalog for the recent Karl Wirsum retrospective at the Chicago Cultural Center. Wirsum’s exuberant cartoon vernacular paintings and sculptures have influenced generations of artists. This is the first major book on Wirsum and is a testament to his genius. It is also a wonderful design object, opening two ways and featuring images printed on acetate. Absolutely essential.
