Here at PBox HQ we have taken in a bunch of new products. Cold Heat Special 6 is in stock and going fast! And note that we’re now carrying zines and projects from the British collective Famicon. We like these funny British people, and are pleased they’re allowing their publications to reach the colonies. Takashi Nemoto is representing with 2 new prints and one poster. This is the first time we’ve offered any artwork from Nemoto, and maybe the first time it’s been available in North America. So hop to it! We have School, a wonderful new zine about the female experience in contemporary Japanese culture and a blazing new tabloid collection of record covers and posters by Saeki Toshio. Last but not least, a hot new publication from Michael Williams detailing his views on Copenhagen.
A hardy PictureBox recommendation for two excellent gallery exhibitions in NYC. Jungil Hong: Growl Fowl spans Jung’s imagemaking efforts in painting, silkscreens and sculptures. Intimate, layered work by Jung. And Francine Spiegel’s Mud and Milk takes immersive, cinematic painting to new heights in order to explore our shared horror consciousness Both shows are musts.
Some very nice round-ups of recent Cold Heat activity over at Jog and All Too Flat. Check ‘em out and check back here shortly for Cold Heat products in stock.

Give Jon a hug for us!
I received some very sad news today: Peter Lloyd, the great artist featured in Overspray, has passed away. I never met Peter, but by all accounts he was a wonderful man besides being a truly extraordinary artist. Peter’s work can be seen in the PictureBox Gallery and of course in Overspray. He excelled at pristine visions of space and light. His paintings were immaculately composed and rendered, and his imagination ran towards the cosmic, as well as the comic. My heartfelt condolences to his family. We have lost one of our best.
Pal Ryan Sands at Same Hat has posted some phenomenal photos of Yokoyama in action in SF! Yuichi, we miss ya! Come to NYC baby!
This Saturday Yuichi Yokoyama will make his first North American appearance at the grand opening of Viz Picture’s San Francisco store New People. He will do a live painting performance on 8/15 at noon and then a signing at 3 pm. Go see him and tell him hello from the PictureBox gang back east!
