A Look Inside: The Dolls Weekly and the Crawlee Things

April 20th, 2012 by Molly Roth

It seems to me that the world isn’t appreciating the awesomeness of The Dolls Weekly and The Crawlee Things by Rory Hayes. Let me show you. Here’s a curated selection of When you break it down, this book is a good deal. It’s 270 pages of black and white [amazing] pencil drawings. So at $30/book, that is only 11 cents per page! Economic utility aside, let’s get to the good stuff.

Please, consider PictureBox fan, Brendt Rioux, who submitted a picture of his reaction to the book as well as his short review.

Pre-’Demented’, proto Bogeyman pencil madness (’62-67). If that volume is the best kind of crude and juvenile, then this takes it back a step further. Horror comics in-utero!

If you’re into it, too, feel free to send me pix of you reading your favorite PBox book (@ molly . roth at gmail.com) and I will happily post in on the blog and/or the Facebook page.
