December 3rd, sick as a dog (no offense to dogs), I embarked on the third annual Brooklyn Comics and Graphics Festival. Well, I’d really embarked on it months before — planning with Bill and Gabe and installing the day before. We were thrilled to be able to host Jack Davis, among other amazing guests. It was a good time. Friday night was the rock show, Saturday was the fest, Sunday was the sleep. It was so busy Saturday that even with the awesome power of Molly Roth to help me I could barely leave the table long enough to get Jack Davis’ to sign a book. I was also a feverish wreck, so that didn’t help! But we had amazing people come out, and the signing with Gabrielle Bell, Frank Santoro, Dash Shaw, Anya Davidson, Sammy Harkham, C.F., and Gary Panter was fantastic. Herewith a photo gallery.

Gary actually put his head down and drew without looking. It worked. And once again he proved that he's cooler than everyone else in the room. Can't help it.

Norman Hathaway next to the new PBox banner he designed, featuring a great American hero: Leon Russell.

Spotted: The great Leif Goldberg in attendance with his calendars. It was great to see Leif after far too long.
This blog is going to take you to school. You will learn about all things PictureBox: old dudes; obscure design; good painting; bad painting; dogs; annoying product endorsements. And so forth. All from me, Dan Nadel, your PictureBox host.

Leon Russell? Seriously, I’m fucking baffled.
