Proust Questionnaire: Wonder Fair!

March 21st, 2011 by Dan Nadel

Coming up in April, PictureBox powerhouse production man and champion bagel chomper Raymond Sohn is opening a solo exhibition at Wonder Fair in Lawrence, Kansas. In celebration, I’m doing  few posts leading up to the grand event, starting with a Proust Q with the WF team itself.

WF team from left to right: Kelly, Eric, Jason and Lee.

Your favorite virtue: Oh man, bless you! Would you like to borrow my handkerchief?

Your favorite qualities in a man: Quick Wit… but not too quick. Probably fast wit, then. That’s more like it. Also, Weird.

Your favorite qualities in a woman: Multilingual. The more languages she speaks the better. Also, can be a spaz sometimes.

Your chief characteristic: Openness to the public.

What you appreciate the most in your friends: Their unconditional acceptance of me. Also, when they push me to bust my butt (work hard).

Your main fault:
Not a good Fencer. I just don’t get it.

Your favourite occupation: Space Traveler.

Your idea of happiness: Contributing to culture and not just consuming it. Also, clowns on stilts.

Your idea of misery: Being stuck in a small cube.

If not yourself, who would you be? Someone who builds ships and sails around the world, very charismatic and smart. Drinks expensive wines.

Where would you like to live? Lawrence, Kansas.  Lucky for me.

Your favorite color and flower: Earth-tone Rainbow, and any flower that can live in the soup can next to my bed.  A dandelion or something.

Your favorite prose authors: R.L. Stein, Dostoyevski, Hemingway, Camus, Emil Cioran, Louis-Ferdinand Celine, Neil Gaiman, Brett Easton Ellis, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Salman Rushdie, Cormac McCarthy, T.H. White.

Your heroes in real life: Christopher McCandless, Timothy Treadwell, Thor Heyerdahl, Andy Kaufman, Travis Millard, Keven Brenneman, Edward Witten, Michael Krueger, John Brown & Asteroid Head

Your favorite heroines in real life: Christa Dalien and anyone else she might recommend.

What characters in history do you most dislike: Charlie Chaplin, spooky.

Your heroines in World history: Beatrix Potter, Peggy Guggenheim, Lee Krasner & Cleopatra.

Your favorite food and drink:
Milkshakes, but if that can’t count then Ice Cream for food and Milk for drink.

Your favorite names: Eric, Jason, Kelly & Lee (Both Kelly & Lee for boy names, not girl names)

What I hate the most: Time. Also, Confident Incuriosity

World history characters I hate the most: Ronald McDonald & Friends. Grimace is okay.

The natural talent I’d like to be gifted with: The ability to invent things that really work. No more pipe cleaner robots.

How I wish to die: Saving all of conscious and unconscious existence from utter annihilation, both in this dimension and beyond.

What is your present state of mind: Contemplative

For what fault have you most toleration? Perfection

Your favorite motto: “Fuck Art, Let’s Dance” Also, “No, not like that! Dance like this… C’mon, you’re not watching my feet! … Ahh, forget it. Let’s just keep drawing.
