Oh, it’s just business as usual around here: Yokoyama’s “Garden” is at the printers; Charles Willeford’s Cockfighter is being proofread; Yokoyama’s limited edition book, Color Engineering (yes, all new images, 208 pages, full color, June) is almost done; and of course I’m working on books for the fall, which’ll be announced soon enough. There are some exhibitions and stuff on the horizon, but we’ll just work that stuff out later. In the meantime:
Brian Belott sent me some pix of his new glass paintings. This one is my favorite. Brian always amazes.
Here’s something: A spread from Paul Thek’s 1973 book, Ark Pyramid Easter. Lovely work. I haven’t see much more than representative spreads of Thek’s book work, but it’s always as rough and romantic as his paintings, drawings and installations.
And what’s this? Just the new design for PictureBox’s tote bag. Yes, tote bag. Try to hold your excitement back. Leon Sadler is the man responsible. Look for this in the Spring, when I embark on my book fair travels… first MoCCA and then TCAF. And on and on.
And finally, if you are craving more “me”, head on over to HiLowBrow and check out some thoughts on Kirby’s OMAC, part of a month-long series on different Jack Kirby panels.
This blog is going to take you to school. You will learn about all things PictureBox: old dudes; obscure design; good painting; bad painting; dogs; annoying product endorsements. And so forth. All from me, Dan Nadel, your PictureBox host.

Do you have any plans on any projects with brian belott, his black book was wicked, my friend Bryan gave it me
Oh Leon, it’s on press, baby. I think it’s good as-is. Belott: He is amazing, yes. Nothing on the slate now, though. Hope to one day.
