A Long Time Ago

February 3rd, 2011 by Dan Nadel

I just came across the photos from a trip I made to Providence RI on May 31, 2003. I was there to interview Brian Chippendale and Jim Drain.

Brian was attaching studded animals to a telephone pole outside his living space.

Brian, in mask, holding his progeny. Some good "old" art is all around him.

I don't remember how I wound up over here -- The Hilarious Attic. It's where Brian C. now lives, but back then it was Mat Brinkman, Leif Goldberg, and... I'm not sure who else. Surely someone will tell me. But I unabashedly loved seeing all the Forcefield sculptures everywhere. This is one next to a piece by Jungil Hong.

The Paper Rodeo print top-left of the kitten-wrangler is a wonder, hangs in my home it does.

Wonderful photos Dan! Can’t wait for the Jungil piece. :D
