Where, What…?

January 16th, 2011 by Dan Nadel

Sometime I get out and about, and other times not. Today I finished the final manuscript edit on the next Charles Willeford book, Cockfighter.

Probably Willeford’s finest moment, this is one of the great novels about manly America. It’ll be out in March or so. Also coming soon… Yokoyama‘s Garden. This is not the cover, but it is proof of a soon-to-be-corporeal object containing multitudes.

Mmmm, we’re hoping for April for this one. And after a high-octane meeting on Friday it’s been decided that September will see the collected edition of this:

More on that later.

In between work, there is some play. Went to see Panter last week. He reports progress in all areas and boasts some impressive new form-based paintings. Also, for kicks, making goofy panels, which I loved, as pictured here, next to his might strumming axe. Also, the dude is 3 pages into a new Jimbo comic, containing heartfelt meditations on nerds, walking, and architecture.

Finally, I attended not one, but two Joe Bradley openings, one showing mighty explorations in abstract figuration.

And the other moving to concrete adventures in human motion executed in silkscreen.

On the product front, Sean T. Collins has much to say about the wonderful oversized anthology Mould Map, which we are distributing.

That’s all for now. Merry Sunday.
