Went over to the Panter/Silverman house to shoot some artwork on the big copy stand with pals Norman and Kristine. The basement always resembles the world’s greatest flea market, but better. For example, here’s a groovy Italian magazine from 1983 called Jill with a feature on Ranxerox!
After a lively afternoon there and a job well done I feared a lengthy trip to Greenpoint to go see Joe Bradley, whose books needed to be retrieved. Luckily the subways ran for me like wild horses and JB threw down his keys to me like a dirtier, shorter, less attractive Rapunzel. After some gabbing and lukewarm beer he and fellow painter Chris Martin sat down and signed a box full of their collaborative book which not incidentally is in the store ready for your purchasing pleasure.
The day ended at a rousing film screening of Matthew Thurber’s latest project, Moon Tube, which is a completely apt description.
This blog is going to take you to school. You will learn about all things PictureBox: old dudes; obscure design; good painting; bad painting; dogs; annoying product endorsements. And so forth. All from me, Dan Nadel, your PictureBox host.
