Hairy Who

Name of a group of exhibitions and publications by six Chicago artists from 1966–
1969. Often used as stand-in for image-based, semi-grotesque, immaculately crafted works produced by sterling generation in Chicago, circa 1965–75. The actual Hairy Who was just 5 exhibitions and 4 publications. Participants were: Jim Falconer, Art Green, Gladys Nilsson, Jim Nutt, Suellen Rocca, Karl Wirsum.
