East Totem West

East Totem West was a hippy company in the Bay Area from 1967 to ’69. The big idea here was to make psychedelic posters that were not for rock gigs or products but rather just for the sake of art (and a wee bit o’ commerce, man). Art director, artist and entrepreneur Joe McHugh gathered a stable of artists around him and for two years pumped out a few dozen killer images very much rooted in acid-tinged psych
experiences.
